The alien world of Mer is being devoured by Dark Water. Only Ren, a young prince, can stop it, by finding the lost Thirteen Treasures of Rule. At his side is an unlikely but loyal crew of misfits; at his back, the evil pirate king Bloth, who would stop at nothing to get the Treasures for himself. Crew of The Wraith:
Prince Ren of Octopon
Ren grew up as a lighthouse keeper until his seventeenth year, when he saw a man battling the waves of a storm. Ren rescued the man from the water, but was unable to save his life. Ren discovered the man was King Primus of Octopon, and he decided to take off where his father had left off, by locating the 13 Treasures of Rule.
Formerly Bloth's slave, Niddler kidnapped Ren from the Lighthouse and brought him to Bloth's ship. He soon helped the Prince escape the Pirate Lord, and flee to to find the compass to locate the Treasures of Rule. He's very much the 'cute and cuddly sidekick'...well, more like 'whining coward'...
Ioz met up with Ren and Niddler thinking they were going after plunder, and offered his ship (for a fair cut of the take) Lo and behold, Ioz is a liar and a thief; Ren and Niddler helped him steal the Wraith before setting out after the treasure. Ioz is chauvinistic, but a great fighter and looks out for the young prince.
Last but certainly not least, Tula first appeared to be a watiress in a tavern, but stowed away on the Wraith to 'Get away from life on Land' but really had her own intentions in mind. She proved herself more than useful as a fighter, sailor and an ecomancer, no matter how shady her actions may be.
Crew of the Maelstrom:
Bloth also seeks the 13 Treasures of Rule, but for his own purposes. He's also the most successful villain to get away with wearing pink, too...
Bloth's Second in command; he's an excellent fighter and has a huge love of gold.
Or "The Piglet" As everybody calls him...
Other Characters:
Ioz's old friend, he runs a gaming house in Janda Town. Just remember to leave your weapons at the door.
The Captain of the Ghost Pirates, she develops a 'Thing' for Ioz.
Ioz's baby sister. Despite she only made a one episode appearance, she's much a match for her older brother (at least moral wise).
One of King Primus's jilted girlfriends, Cray seeks a little darkness to restore her old beauty and take back the past through his son.
A slave to the Dark Dweller.
Ren's guardian, and keeper of the lighthouse, she tells Ren of his noble lineage and aids him as mentor through the quest.
The former owner of the Wraith, and he wants it back...
