The Elm-Chanted Forest, a movie released in 1986, is about a painter named Peter Palete, who slept underneath the enchanted elm (guardian spirit of the forest) and became “elm-chanted”, and so can speak to the animals of the forest and do magic with his paint brush.
Peter soon learned about an evil plan from Emperor Spine, the cactus king, to turn the entire forest into a desert. His dark forces have caused many animals to run away, especially the beavers, since they are builders and so are hated by Spine.
Peter believes that Spine is mean because he is frustrated, since he has never fulfilled his nature and blossomed. With help of his animal friends, J. Edgar Beaver, Bud E. Bear, Fifi Fox, Do and Rei and Mi Hedgehogs, and Thistle (Spine’s court magician), Peter was able to slip Spine a potion that helped the cactus king to finally bloom, thus saving the forest once and for all.

Songs:
Let Your Fur Down
When you’re feeling kind of lonely and all bottled up inside
When your
little heart is breaking from the feelings that you hide
There’s a place
that you are welcome, where your little heart can mend
Come with me and let your
fur down with a friend
What’s the reason to be lonely when there’s other folks like you
And
like birds of a feather, they all flop together too
When there’s music and there’s
laughter and good times that have no end
Come with me and let you fur down with
a friend
Come with me and let your fur down, come with me and step in tide
Come with
me and join the hoedown, come with me for a ride
Come with me to the bright side,
come with me around the bend
Come with me and let your fur down with a friend
What’s the reason to be lonely when there’s lot of folks like
you
And like birds of a feather, they all flop together too
When there’s music and there’s
laughter and good times that have no end
Come with me and let your fur down with
a friend
Come with me and let your fur down, come with me and step in tide
Come with
me and join the hoedown, come with me for a ride
Come with me to the bright side,
come with me around the bend
Come with me and let your fur down with a friend
Come with me and let your fur down, come with me and step in tide
Come with
me and join the hoedown, come with me for a ride
Come with me to the bright side,
come with me around the bend
Come with me and let your fur down with a friend
Come with me and let your fur down with a friend
Waterclock Lullaby
Sleep well tonight and may the waterclock
Just float you to a land of happy dreaming
Sail you to port and past the golden dock
Out where the streams are free to do their steaming
Pillow deep and listen to the soft drip drops
Gentle rains that patter on the chimney tops
Hush now the clock is chiming sweet lullabies
Each waterfall is rhyming
It's time to close your eyes
Pillow deep and listen to the soft drip drops
Gentle rains that patter on the chimney tops
Hush now the clock is chiming sweet lullabies
Each waterfall is rhyming
It's time to close your eyes
