All Dogs Go To Heaven, or ADGTH, as it is commonly known as, is the Don Bluth movie that, to many, is a classic. When the movie opens, we find Charlie in the pound, or "jail". After Itchy busts him out, Charlie goes back to the casino he owns with his partner, Carface, not knowing that it was Carface that sent him to jail in the first place. When Carface finds Charlie is out, he kills him.
Charlie goes to heaven, but there he finds the watch that represents his life. "It's stopped," Annabelle, the head whippet, tells him. "Can't we just wind it up again?" Charlie asks. "And send you back?" Annabelle responds in surprise. "No one's ever gone back before!" Once Charlie finds this out, he steals the watch and winds it up, in spite of Annabelle's warning that he will never be allowed in heaven again.
Back on earth, Charlie finds Itchy and begins to plot revenge on Carface. He soon meets up with Anne Marie, a girl who has the ability to talk to animals. Charlie figures this is an easy way to get money, and uses her to win at gambling. He temporarily forgets about Carface, and once Carface learns Charlie's alive, he sets out to kill him again.
