The Guys
Norman: Of Mighty Max fame, this guy here was the definition of MAN. He was a giant lumbering warrior, but so agile, protective, honorable... with a little edge of dry humor. Love the facial hair, the ponytail, the angles... YES.
Batman: Ok, the body is nice, but I was definately more enamored with Mr. Wayne's personality. At the age of 13, I pretty much wanted to BE Batman. The independence, the strength, the power, his weaknesses... I even wrote myself into the plot as his adopted daughter and the "real" Batgirl.
Tatewaki Kuno: Of Ranma 1/2. I wasn't too impressed with the guys on that show, too affeminate, except for Kuno. The eternally frustrated, lovestruck, pompous, inept pervert... I was definately in it for the looks... gotta love the way that Bushido shirt shows off that hairless chest.
Vegeta: Of all the DBZ characters to wear blue spandex, he wears it best!
Miles "Tails" Prower: Ok, no real lust here, but I love his design. He is so adorable! Although I was disappointed at first when I discovered he wasn't a girl (wouldn't we all love to see a better female sonic character than Amy >gags, vomits<) I really liked his proprtions and just overall cuteness. The large eyes, the tuft of fur on his chest, the bold colors... most of my characters looked a LOT like him for a while!
Mega Man: DROOL! If I could be any super hero, I'd be Mega Man! There is something absurd about the enlarged calves and forearms that makes him just look so cool!
Rush: Can't say I lust after this pooch but I had dreamed since seventh grade of owning him! I mean, an adorable, faithful dog.. that turns into a JET SLED! WOO HOO!
The Gals
Princess Sally: Ok, I have a love/hate relationship with her. I totally LOVE her design, the petite figure, the intellegence... But I HATE her for all of those reasons, because a year before she appeared on SatAm I had already designed a Sonic character who looked nearly identical to her named "Wind" and she was a flying squirrel and... well, I'm just jealous I guess. But oh, look at those curves! Should squirrels be this sexy?
Sizzle: On a short-lived show called Stunt Dawgs, one firery southern red head taught me everything I needed to know about drawing the perfect female body... her name was Sizzle. This pic is terrible, you need to see her in action!
Polly Esther: She is the female embodiment of my Mega Man fetish. LOVE that style of drawing... she has that cute super-deformed figure, the adorable oversized bell around her undersized neck, yet looks dainty and powerful all in one. I guess I can forgive the fact she became a pop singing idol... all anime chicks do at one point.
Batgirl: Ok, another love/hate here. Love the bod and her presence... hate the personality. Remember, I was the REAL batgirl you know, and I didn't have a sissy teddy bear named Wubbie or let the boys take over all the time or... yes, yes I am crazy.
Chel: You want curves? Oh baby! I love Chel's lack of inhibition, particularly in how she dresses... very few female heroines can pull off the innocent sexiness she has... ok, so it's not so innocent.
Gadget Hackwrench: Could there have been a more perfect mouse character? She was so beautiful in a very natural way, had the cutest little figure, the tiny feet and waist, the long hair, the most adorable, sleek movements, yet she wasn't overly feminine. She wasn't a ditz nor was she too smart, and was just all around wonderful!
Princess Toadstool: Looking back, she wasn't too deep of a character but I liked her a lot because she was brunette like me (well, close enough) and because she was a princess who, although she was kidnapped way too many times, fought with the good guys and was usually an asset to the team. I also liked her voice a lot, it wasn't too girly or exaggerated.
Roll: The sweetest thing to come from Mega Man.. next to Rush of course! She's positively adorable, again with the big calves and whatnot. She doesn't fight too much (she was made to be a house cleaning robot!!! ::growls::) but in Capcom vs Streetfighter she's awesome, especially when she rides Rush sidesaddle... ^.^
Flora: Of Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, truly a precious little girl. She can pull off that miniskirt at 7, and had that saccharine voice. I like that she used to be a flower and the overall calming aura she posesses.
Ursula: I truly love this woman. She reminds me of myself in high school, the long hair, torn jeans and tanktop, living the life I want, sketching in the woods. Ursula has a wise and open outlook on life and is truly the free spirit I hope I find myself to be someday. I also can relate to her and Kiki's artistic block and self doubt, and how she solved it by just letting the right moment pass and siezing it when it came.
Kiki: My little hero! Kiki is a bright, determined little girl with a fragile but unbreakable spirit. She is truly human in all of her strengths and weaknesses and has a heart of gold. I'd have Kiki as my little sister in a heartbeat.
