The top 5 Just Plain the best: (Not that I feel anything akin to love for the following characters, I just find them ... enchanting....)
#1 Basil of Baker Street from "The Great Mouse Detective": I love Basil for numerous reasons! He's the smartest mouse in London! Perhaps the World! And he's made from the same stuff as my favorite detective to grace the pages of literature, Sherlock Holmes! He is absolutely dedicated to finding the solution to a case through his God given brains ... and doesn't seem to rest until the case is brought to a successful conclusion. The very best of heroes! Relying on Brains over brawn to solve problems. He can go from insanely animated and exuberant, to depressed and sluggish in a matter of moments, I find that very interesting. A charming character, I can't help but admire. I also love his laugh, and his pathetic look when he was in the mouse trap. And, he plays the violin, what more could one want? Oh, I could write an entire essay, but I don't think anyone would really read it! Heh.
#2 Yakko Warner: "Animaniacs" Yakko Warner is 90% Groucho Marx, one of my very favorite vaudeville style actors! I have a love for puns and word play, and Yakko satisfies my need for it! He has some of the best lines ever to grace a TV show! He can sing, he can dance, he can make chili and fries! He is everything a cartoon should be!! If all cartoons took a lesson from him we'd have real quality comedy! He's always ready with a wise crack or a terrible pun ... or a comical "Goodnight, everybody!" I just adore this guy!
#3 Tenjou Utena: "Revolutionary Girl Utena" I didn't want to include anime on this list, but I just cannot resist listing Utena-sama. I had considered Wakaba, but felt, as much as I love her, she wasn't the best of the best material. Utena, however, is one of the strongest willed and charming female characters I have ever seen. She is a fantastic swords woman, and has that whole "Prisoner of Society" thing going that I just can't help but admire. She also aspires to be a prince, something I've been trying to do myself for some time, so as soon as I saw Utena I felt a certain kinship with her. She also has amazing Pink hair! Now, I hate that color, but she wears it -- Oh does she wear it! A wonderful Character, and a good roll model. Also, her unique friendship with Anthy is a relationship I find truly touching, and could go on and on about.
# 4 Puck/Owen: "Gargoyles" I tried out for Puck from "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in 8th grade, and didn't get it (I ended up with Titania), but I wanted the part so badly that I almost quit the show. Puck is one of the best Cartoon characters as well as literary characters. His costume is wonderful (I went as him for Halloween, heheh) and I love his voice and the sort of comments he makes when interacting with the other characters. He truly believes them to be fools ("Lord, what fools these mortals be."), yet has a certain liking for most of them, nonetheless. I love the way he floats around and twists wishes and is just generally a trickster of the most clever kind! He definitely earns a place on my list as a great character from a great show.
#5: Jane Lane: "Daria" I had a wide array of Daria characters to choose from, but I think none deserve a place on the list more than Jane Lane. I love "Daria," and I love all of the characters on it. The whole show is insanely real in an exaggerated and completely fabricated way! And Jane is the best. She's similar to Daria in her demeanor, but is a little more opened to things than Daria is, and seems to have a lot more fun than Daria has. She knows life doesn't always make sense, but you have to at least enjoy the ride. I respect her greatly for that. Also, have you ever seen her art? It's just plan cool! She's funny, AND a snappy dresser! I love her boots and her hair. All aspects of Jane are great ... and I have a thing for simple names. My friends, at least, are always wanting to name their book characters things like "Daemione" and "Klapaucis" and "Artimus Solaris" and "T'challa" ... what ever happened to plan old "Jane"?
The top 5 Anime Guys (*Swooon*) :
#1 Ryoga Hibiki: "Ranma 1/2" Ryoga is most likely the first of my Anime Lust objects! I was in love with this guy for quite some time (though now it's more of a loving respect)! Ranma 1/2 was the first real Anime I ever saw, and as soon as I got a good look at Ryoga he became my favorite character. I sympathized fully with him for his terrible sense of direction! I have that problem myself. Can't find my way out of a paper bag I'm afraid! He's also insanely cute! I feel so sorry for him, I just want to give him a big hug. Akane had better wise up and marry Ryoga so he doesn't kill himself, and then the world loses his gorgeous butt! And have you seen the way he handles that umbrella? Beautiful! AHHH... All the punk bands in the world combined have nothing on Ryoga in the teen angst department!
#2 James: "Pokemon" Ahhhh.... my little blue haired screw up... Oh well, even if that mean old Jessie does bat you around so, I still love you! He can Rhyme, he Can PUN! He has BLUE HAIR, and he's got the best fashion sense this side of the Orange Islands! He's also a real romantic at heart (It's in the rose he carries, you can tell.) *SIIIGH*
#3 Zelgadis: "Slayers" I'm not incredibly wild for his English voice, but I love the character. He's stone and he's still sexy! (And he has Blue hair, do we see a pattern here?) I was tempted to put Gourry, because he's just so dumb that it makes him incredibly cute! But, in the end I listed good ol' Zel! He can use Majic, and he has that whole flowing cape thing going that I just love! Poor guy! He's just so Angst ridden! ...And he just plain looks COOL!!
#4 Kaoru Miki "Revolutionary Girl Utena" Where would the list be without one of the Student Council fab four? (OK, Juri's not a guy, but ... yeah.) He's so mysterious ... and.... AGAIN WITH THE BLUE HAIR! --Anyway, he's mysterious, and polite, and soft spoken, and just a really nice young man. He plays the piano and is a 7th grader who takes COLLEGE courses. He's a genius. He's definitely my favorite of the guys from "Utena." He's love for Anthy goes beyond the love the other characters feel towards another, id est, his love for Anthy is not for the sake of possessing the sword of Dios, and not like Touga's lust after Utena. The only thing to compare it to is Utena's friendship with Anthy. I admire that in him... And also, he's just so CUUUTE!
#5 Vegeta "Dragon Ball Z" Ooohooohoo. I love this guy! He's so evil! So full of himself! So... So... Wow! He's short but strong. One of the strongest! And his hair may not be Blue, but I'll bet he could STAB somebody with it! Heehee! *Swooooooooooon*!! What more need I say?
The Top 5 Furries (*Rawr*):
#1 Timon: "The Lion King" Isn't he just the CUTEST!!! Yes!!! I love this Meerkat! He's got the ego and the attitude that I find myself loving in cartoon characters, but, like all good characters, he has a softer side too! Aww... He's such a good comedic side kick... And his hoolla dance is something I STILL do every once and a while. ^_^ He's got a great singing voice too! ...And hey, he tells "bad" jokes! (Whattsamatto with you? HAHAHA!)
#2 Bonkers "Bonkers" Bonkers D. Bobcat! He was my first cartoon crush that I can remember. I remember wanting to BE this guy, I thought he was so cool! My friends and I would "Play Bonkers" and I always got to be Bonkers! (I did him justice, too. ^_^) He's a little ball of energy and dedicated to doing good, even if he does botch things up a lot. He reminds me of Roger Rabbit a lot, another GREAT character! And a scene that will always stick in my mind: When he grabbed Lucky's keys and played hackie sac with them. I always wanted to be able to do that!
#3. Sherlock Hound: "Sherlock Hound" I remember watching this when I was VERY little. I remember loving it too. The cartoon was action packed and very fun! And Sherlock Hound is just VERY VERY cute, and handsome! He looks so good in his deerstalker and Inverness cape! Mmmmmm... ^_^
#4 David Q. Dawson: "The Great Mouse Detective" He does seem an odd choice for a LUST site, but I can explain my reasoning! My friend and I are in love with Watson from the Sherlock Holmes Stories. Dawson is his mouse version. Dawson is cute in that puppy dog, or baby koala sort of a way. Basil is off limits. I love Dawson.
#5 Brain: "Pinky and the Brain" Why do I pick Brain? Something about a mouse trying to TAKE OVER THE WORLD just cracks me up. Brain makes me laugh about 10 times harder than Pinky does, and I laugh at Pinky a lot! Brain just has more intelligent jokes. For example (I "quote" from memory): "The earth and Pinky. They are quite easily distinguished from one another. One is a blob of inert matter spinning wildly through the void, the other is the earth." He may not be as cute as Pinky, but I find his brains nicer than his looks. He's also got that caring side he rarely shows, and those sorts of characters intrigue me so. =)
The Top 5 Inanimate Objects and Plants (Nothing better-or worse?- than talking toasters and Green Beans!):
#1 Nervous Rex: "A Toy Story" Nervous Rex is a great character. He reminds me for ever of my best friend Gumball (Don't ask.), especially when he was trying to defeat Zurg! He is like that with video games. I find this character funny ... and surprisingly unlike the other strong willed or intelligent characters on my list. Maybe my psyche is trying to tell me something...
#2 The Red Shoe from "Roger Rabbit" that got dipped You know that shoe, right? How could you forget it? I never did! It was just so cute! I felt so sorry for it. It had that pathetic look on it's face as it went in... OH! WAAAH! I remember making up stories about how it came back to life at the end of the movie. I would tell my Mom that it had been redrawn, or the effects of the dip didn't last after the bad guy was killed... Just so that poor little shoe would be back among the living! It will forever have a place in my heart!
#3 Lampy: "The Brave Little Toaster" I was obsessed with this character when I was very little! I would imagine that I was a lamp too, so I could be his friend! I must have owned about 5 lamps that looked like him! He has the cutest voice, too! He's just a funny character, so don't anybody dis the lamp! Besides, I don't think we'll ever forget how he selflessly sacrificed himself so the others could recharge. It was truly touching!
#4 :A Talking Rock: "Cartoon Sushi" You'll probably not know this guy... But he was a funny British Rock from a bad TV show on MTV. He was in only one animated short that was spread into 3 parts of an episode. The gist is a guy pulling this annoying talking rock that's attached to him with a chain. It's incredibly hot, and he has no water, and he has to put up with this annoying rock talking to him the whole time. It was very dark, but it always managed to stick in my mind. And whenever I want to annoy someone, I do an impression of the Rock.
#5 The Bed: "Little Nemo" It didn't have any lines. It didn't really DO anything ... except walk around and commence being scary! It was cool.
The Top 5 Animated Guys (*Double Swoon*):
#1 Kuzco: "The Emperor's New Groove" "My face! My beautiful face! I'm an ugly, stinky llama! (whimper) Llamaface..." Aww ... you look cute as a Llama too! But you look better as a Human! Ooooh... I don't know if I can even put into words how I love this guy! I mean look at him! Isn't he CUTE??? ISN'T HE??? He is a truly original kind of Disney character! He's the good guy and the bad guy at the same time!!!! He's funny! He's CUTE as a Human and a Llama!! He's got a good heart, and he's still got the ego! Oooh, I like!
#2 Tom: "Daria" I love Tom. I have never been closer glued to the screen than when the Episode is about Tom. He's cute in that retro sort of way! He's just a strong character.
#3 Johnny Bravo: "Johnny Bravo" How can any gal turn him down??? He's strong, he's funny, he has a funny accent, he knows KUNG FU!! He has everything! Yes, Johnny, I want to smell you!! Yes, Johnny, My name is Mickey if you want it to be!! Oh, Johnny! Dang, you're pretty!
#4 Cale: "Titan A.E." CUUUUUUUTE!!! GREAT HAIR!!!! Need I say more????
#5 Sherlock Holmes: "Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century" I'm sort of cheating, because I haven't seen the show, but I have seen pictures of him, and know quite a bit about the show. And if he's cute, isn't that enough? I already Love Sherlock Holmes! I don't need to explain that, do I?
The top 5 Villains:
#1 Scar: "The Lion King" Scar. What makes a great story? A Great Villain! And I can think of none more cunning, intelligent, and sinister as Scar. His plan was pure genius. He had it all thought out in that twisted genius mind of his. If he wasn't incorrigible he would have made a marvelous leader. Unfortunately, his clever mind turned to evil ... and all went dark. His looks add to his evil. He's like watching liquid metal. He slips and slides and oozes, just like his mind. He knows how to make an entrance, and he has an eloquent way of speaking that also flows and oozes along with the rest of him. His whole demeanor is evil and brilliant. He pulls off the villain thing better than any I have ever seen.
#2 Mr. Gone "The Maxx" I won't explain him to you, if you don't already know. I will only say, this fellow is the manifestation of all things evil in the world, so to speak. He's a REAL villain. The things he does are real concerns to society. He is not exactly "evil", however. There is an explanation for his insanity. It makes him very real.
#3 Cruella DeVil "101 Dalmatians" She had to be on the list. It was argued by my brother that she should be first. She is a truly evil villain in most peoples eyes. She's not exceptionally smart. About average. She has no terribly villainous demeanor, but she tried to do something no human with a fraction of a heart would allow. She tried to kill some innocent puppies and make them into a COAT!! People can stand to watch main characters die. Be killed in cold blood. They can watch innocent by standers be eliminated just to show how terribly the baddie is. But people will not allow animals to be killed in such ways. A dog and a man could be executed side by side, and were it in a movie, our hearts would go out to the dog.
#4 Hades: "Hercules" I wasn't head over tail for this movie, but I loved Hades. I watched the TV show just to see more of him. He is unlike any other villain I can think of. He's evil ... but... Charismatic! We hate to love him, but can't help it!
#5 Preed "Titan A.E." Smart, lanky, cool looking, great voice. Wow. And man, he was a cool villain. So backstabing. I like it.
The "If I was a Guy" top 5:
#1 The Spring Sprite: "Fantasia 2000" My story is that of so many. She's beautiful. I want to be her more than anything in the world. She was the real reason I went to see Fantasia 200. Sure, the new Daisy was cool, but she was why I went to see it! She's amazing. The way she moves! Her eyes! Everything about her is breath taking! I'm tempted to add a few more pictures of her to my harem! ...She's just so ... perfect! She's Disney's Magnum Opus as far as I'm concerned!
#2 Jessica Rabbit: "Roger Rabbit" She's not bad, she's just drawn that way. Oh, man! The Animators went Tex Avery on us with her! She has red hair, red heads are cool ^_^ Heehee. And She sports that insanely form fitting sequin dress ... and does it fit her form! I don't know if there are any sexier toons than her... And when she sings that song in the bar ... well, where's that Tex Avery wolf when you need him?
#3 Quinn: "Daria" Every guy wants have her, and every girl wants to have her body... And Daria and Jane want to have her body mutilated by jaguars and served to Kevin and Brittany for dinner. So, why did I pick her? Because she's more than she seems. She only acts the way she does because she has such low self-esteem. If she would ditch the fashion losers, she could actually turn out to be a reasonably cool person! Were I a guy, I would go out with her to bring out her good side. ^_^
#4 Jessie: "Pokemon" Yeow, feisty. Jessie certainly is a gal, ain't she? As fiery and conceded, and irascible as she is, she has a softer side. It makes her sweet. And she's beautiful too. I think she should get with James, if I didn't have dibs on him, that is.
#5 Rei: "Sailor Moon" "Mars, Fire, IGNITE!" My friends voted me Rei out of all the sailor scouts, so she quickly became my favorite. She has beautiful purple black hair, and she kicks butt in high heels, woo hooo! That sailor suit is cool too. ^_^ No wonder Chad loves her!
The top 5 Most Like Me:
#1 King Kaio: "Dragon Ball Z" So, he doesn't look much like me, but he acts a lot like me... And he seems to like sun glasses. ^_^ He's always ready to make a bad joke and then laugh at it hysterically, and then laugh at it again later completely out of the blue! He's friendly, and a ready to put on a show for whoever comes by his little planet. He's pretty much a loner, too ... having no real love interest. He's got lots of friends, but he seems to care for them each the same. He also throws fits about some of the silliest things, and being angry really doesn't suit him. He's a whole lot like me.
#2 Wakaba "Revolutionary Girl Utena" Utena's best friend. Her mother told her she was the Onion princess when she was little, and for the longest time she believed it. I tend to lovingly remember stories of the sort from my childhood same as her. And while she's straight, she constantly claims Utena is her boyfriend! It's so cute, and it's so me! She's bouncy and fun and a real romantic at heart. She's the every kid, with something special. ^_^
#3 Washuu: "Tenchi Muyo" The kid at heart. She wants to be 12 forever. I do the same thing. I attempt to be childlike a lot of the time, but I still have adult qualities when I want them, same as her. I'm very smart, and I constantly tell people I'm a genius. u.u; And She dressed up as Sherlock Holmes, I mean, how cool is that??? She also has a quote I agree with and find myself singing quite often, "Science is better than love could ever be! Falling in love is based on chaotic theory!" yet, she still is ... as Wakaba is, a Romantic at heart. She reminds me very much of Sherlock Holmes, but in a more animated and fun loving way. She also looks like me! Red hair, Green eyes, SHORT! Heehee.
#4 Stith: "Titan A.E." Doesn't look like me, but man, as soon as I saw her, I said "She's just like me!" .... "I will kill you, Preed, I. Will. Kill. You!" He snappy fits when she's upset, trying to do something she has no clue how to do she sounds JUST LIKE ME. He mannerisms and speech are mine exactly. She's melodramatic, and doesn't care. She's upset, so lay off! I'm exactly the same.
#5 Lina Inverse: "Slayers" The saucer eyed ego manic. Yep, that's me, except I can't do the Dragon Slave! LoL, I even look like Lina, don't have red eyes, but I look a lot like her. She's my height exactly. I also act a lot like her. She's just funny. ^_^
Misc. Characters (In no particular order): (I wanted to list them, but I didn't know where to put them)* Gune: "Titan A.E." My friend and I practically cried when we thought he had died, and we cheered until the audience shushed us when he came back! We were in love with him as soon as we saw him! He's just so cute. Brilliant and a complete loony at the same time.
* Duke L'Orange: "The Mighty Ducks" The Thief. He may be old, but he's hot. He may be old but he's still sharp as nails. I always admired characters of his sort. And he's a thief, I love that! His episodes were always my favorites, and I was in love with him for a really long time!
* The Grumble: "AHH! Real Monsters" A short lived crush... But I always loved this guy. Sure, he's an angry, loud, cranky monster. But he's an angry, loud, cranky monster with a heart. I always liked him the best. And those shoes! How does he walk in those???
* Jack Skellington: "The Nightmare Before Christmas" He's got a great voice, and he looks cool! It's guys like him that make me wish I was a rag doll!
* Fiver-Rah: "WaterShip Down" He's so cute! Read the book if you haven't! It's marvelous!!
HONORABLE MENTION (In no Particular Order): Mr. DiMartino, Daria, The Fashion Club, Trent, Jake and Helen (Daria); Huckleberry Hound ("HanaBarbara"), Tigger (Whinny the Pooh), Underdog (Hey, he talks in RHYME! "Underdog"), Icarus, Megara (Hercules), Hazel, Bigwig (WaterShip Down), Prof. Jones (Freakazoid!), Darkwing Duck, Mole-iarty, Megavolt (Dark Wing Duck), Kuno, Kodachi, Gosonkugi, Mousse, Genma (Ranma 1/2), Lexington, Magus, Matt (Gargoyles), Daisy (Quackpack), Babs Bunny, Plucky Duck (Tiny Toon Adventures), Rocko (Rocko's Modern Life), Roger Rabbit, the Baby (Roger Rabbit), Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter, March Hare (Alice in Wonderland), Bender (Futurama), Dr. Katz, Ben (Dr. Katz), Anthy (Utena), Gourry, Xellous (Slayers), Ryoko (Tenchi), Goku, Krillin (DBZ), Clopin (Hunchback of Notre Dame), Mushu, Mulan (Mulan), Sawyer (Cat's Don't Dance), Kelso, the Bug Chef (Titan A.E.), San, Gonza (Princess Mononoke), Miguel, Tulio (Road to Eldorado), Mike the TV (Reboot), Dimitri, Bartok (Anastasia), Z (Antz)....
