Characters:
Bambi is the
young prince of the forest and still learning many things.
The Great Prince
of the Forest still has to teach his son many things.
Thumper is Bambi’s
bestest friend. Being brave is not a problem for this bunny.
Flower is Bambi’s
other friend. His inner strength is pretty powerful.
Faline is another
fawn that lives in the forest. She is Bambi’s good friend.
Ronno is a bully
fawn. He always makes fun of Bambi and claims they’re rivals.
Friend Owl is the Prince’s major-domo. The porcupine doesn’t like anyone trespassing on his property, Thumper’s sisters always hunt Thumper down and Thumper’s mother keeps Thumper in line with his father’s sayings.
A beast is disturbing
the forest animals!
It was another beautiful day in the forest. The Great Prince and Bambi where nestled in they’re log thicket. Bambi yawned and some water dropped in his mouth. He made a ‘bleggh’ face and sighed. He stood up and stretched. He decided it was a little too early for his father so he went outside to get a drink. The sun was just peaking over the mountains and little creatures where stirring from their holes and nests. Bambi looked in the water and saw a fawn with antler stubs looking back at him. He smiled and licked his reflection in the water. He was happy to be the young prince and was getting better at it everyday. He walked triumphantly on the rocks on the little pond in front of him. He jumped from rock to rock but slipped on one and fell into the pond. He shook off the water and looked up see his father looking down at him. “Good Morning, dad” Bambi said. “Good morning” the Great Prince said drying Bambi off. “A prince rises before the forest” Bambi told his dad happily.
“Right you are, now…we must go check on the deer in West Haven” the Great Prince said walking away. Bambi nodded and walked on with his dad. Why he was walking Thumper popped out of the grass next to Bambi. “Hiya Bambi, look my new tooth came in!” Thumper said showing Bambi his new tooth. “Hi Thumper, I guess we’re all growing up, huh?” Bambi said to his friend. “Yup, do you think you could play?” asked Thumper. “Well, uh, I don’t know” Bambi said looking up at his dad. “Go on, have fun. Use your youth why you have it” the Great Prince said. Bambi’s face lit up “Thanks dad, bye!” Bambi and Thumper raced off laughing. The Great Prince smiled. It was still spring and the Cherry blossoms where still in bloom. Suddenly, they herd a muffled voice “Get me out of here!” it echoed. “What’s that sound?” asked Bambi. “Ha-ha, that’s no sound, that’s just Flower!” Thumper laughed pointing to a log with a skunk tail sticking out. “Flower! Are you okay?” Bambi asked running over. “Yeah, I…I think so!” Flower said. “Hold on we’ll pull you out!” Bambi said.
Bambi and Thumper pulled on Flower’s little legs and finally pried him free. The three friends where sent hurdling backwards into a tree, Bambi was on the bottom, Thumper was in the middle and Flower was on top; they looked like a totem pole. After they brushed themselves off Bambi turned to Flower. “How’d you get in there anyway?” “Well, I was in the meadow playing when a big scary looking monster chased me and my dad back into the forest. I tried hiding in this log and well, you know the rest” Flower said. “What’d it look like?” Thumper asked. “It was really big almost as big as the trees! It had big fangs and shaggy fur! Sharp claws and piercing blue eyes! It looked like a bear and a wolf mixed together” Flower said. “A bear and a wolf---“Bambi began. “Mixed together?” Thumper finished for him. Flower nodded. “We’d better go warn the forest animals!” Thumper said to Bambi. “Yeah, we should!” Bambi said.
“About what?” a voice said. The three friends turned around, it was Faline! “Hello Bambi” she said. Bambi cringed; he remembered what had happened yesterday after before he left with his dad.
“Um, hi
Faline” he said bashfully. “What where you guys talking about?” she
asked. “There’s a big beast in the forest!” said Flower. “A
beast?” Faline asked. “Yeah, he’s got these eyes! And he
walks around like this and these teeth like…GRRR! And well…come
on we got warn everybody!” Thumper said scampering away. Everyone looked
at each other for a minute, “Well come on!” Thumper said. Bambi’s
friends took off, Bambi was just about to leave when he herd “Hello
princess”. Bambi turned around and saw Ronno, the buck two seasons
older than him. “What do you want?” Bambi asked angrily. Nothing,
I herd you guys talking about a beast, and you know what?” Ronno hushed
his voice. “What?” Bambi said walking closer to Ronno. “I
think you’re all…LOSERS!” Ronno yelled in Bambi’s
ear. Bambi shook with vibration of the yell as Ronno laughed. Bambi growled
and butted Ronno into the grass. “Oh, you want to spar do you?” Ronno
asked. The two young deer got in a heated debate.
In the other side of the forest, Faline stopped short “Hey, where’s Bambi?” she asked. “I don’t know he was right behind us…wasn’t he?” Thumper said. Flower shrugged. The three ran right back to the spot where Bambi was fighting Ronno. “Ronno stop it!” yelled Faline. Ronno turned around to see Faline and Bambi bucked him into a tree. Bambi snorted with triumph. Ronno shook off his dizziness. “You have your victory today, but you’ll fall soon enough” Ronno said. “Good job Bambi!” Thumper said running up to him. “I wish Ronno wasn’t so mean” Flower said. “We’ve had too many distractions! C’mon let’s go warn my dad!” Bambi said running off near West Haven. Meanwhile, The Great Prince was at West Haven watching over the deer. He walked across the field majestically as all the deer watched in silence. Suddenly Bambi raced out into the field “DAD! *Pant* there’s a beast disturbing the forest animals!” Bambi cried as Thumper and the others followed. The Great Prince looked at his son and around at the other deer, “Beast?” “What will we do?” “How can we protect ourselves?” some deer murmured to each other.
“Now, hold on!” The Great Prince yelled to all the deer. “Son, did you see this beast?” The Great Prince asked. “Well, I uh…no but Flower and his dad did!” Bambi said. The Great Prince turned to Flower “It was like bear and a wolf mixed together and it was at least 10 feet tall!” said Flower. “What? There’s no such thing!” some of the deer yelled. “But its true!” yelled Bambi. All the deer started to walk away. The Great Prince watched them leave and watched his son droop his ears. The Great Prince’s eye’s softened and he sighed “Come along Bambi, let’s go to the meadow” he said. Bambi said good bye to his friends and walked off with his father. The walk to the meadow was quite, Bambi kept glancing up at his dad. Finally the Great Prince said “Listen, you can’t just rush out onto the field and scare the deer like that”. “But dad, it’s true!” Bambi protested. “You’ve never seen the creature so how do you know it’s real?” asked the Great Prince. Bambi frowned “Because I believe Flower!” Bambi yelled. The Great Prince looked at Bambi in shook because of his sudden outburst. Just then, Friend Owl flew in “Oh my goodness! Uh, you’re majesty, you’re highness” Friend Owl said bowing. “Friend Owl” the Great prince said greeting him. “What’s wrong?” Bambi asked the out of breath owl. “Oh yes, I just spotted a herd of deer being chased by a terrible creature!” Friend Owl said. Bambi and the Great Prince looked at each other. “Bambi, you stay here!” the Great Prince said. “But dad, I want to come with you!” Bambi said.
