Movies:
Best Movie ~ The best overall, in all categories and all ways.
Best New Movie ~ The best movie released in that particular year
Most Entertaining Movie ~ This is the movie that was the most fun to watch
Best Music ~ This category is for the best songs ( for those movies that have songs in them)
Best Soundtrack ~ This is for the so-called "background" music, themes, etc.
Best Ensemble Voice Cast ~ Best set of actors' voices
Best Animation ~ This is for movies done with traditional (hand-drawn/cel) animation
Best Non-Traditional Animation ~ This is for movies done primarily in stop motion, CGI, etc.
Best Artwork ~ This means the use of color, the backgrounds, etc.
Best Special Effects ~ This is for non-character CGI, mixing "real" and animated elements, unusually cool animation effects, etc.
Best Adaptation of Another Work ~ The best script based on another medium, such as a book, poem, fairy tale, whatever
Best Original Story ~ The best script based on an original idea
Characters:
Best New Character ~ The character you like best from movies introduced in the current year.
Best Hero ~ The hero is the Good Guy, usually the one who gets the girl
Best Heroine ~ Also the Good Guy, in female form
Best Villain ~ Best male Bad Guy
Best Villainess ~ Best female Bad Guy
Best Hero/Heroine's Sidekicks ~ Secondary characters who help out the Good Guys
Best Villain/Villainess' Sidekicks ~ Secondary characters who help out the Bad Guys
Best Juvenile Character ~ Best character who is a child (pre-puberty)
Best Developed Character ~ The one who changes most in his/her film, or whose motives are best shown
Best Secondary Character ~ For those secondary characters who aren't sidekicks, but are integral to the plot
Best Comic Character ~ Well, yeah, the funniest one, but also consider if the character's humor helps the plot
Best Character Voice ~ The best individual voice acting job
Best Singing Voice ~ For those characters who do sing, the ones who do it best
Sexiest Male Character ~ I think this is self-explanatory
Sexiest Female Character ~ I think this is self-explanatory, too
Best Character Design ~ A tribute to the animators, this is for the best-conceived artistic design of a character
