Zhao is the arrogant commander of a Fire Nation army in Avatar: The Last Airbender. He is later promoted to the rank of Admiral and given control of a powerful fleet. Zhao despises Prince Zuko and hopes to capture the Avatar before the exiled prince can. Eventually he leads a siege on the North Pole and has one final showdown with Zuko. He loses and then lets the spirit of the water drag him to his demise, too proud to accept Zuko's help when it is offered to him.
