This Fruits Basket character is one of the twelve cursed members of the Sohma clan. Popular at school because of his intelligence, good looks and athletic ability, Yuki is called a "prince" by the female population, and even has his own fanclub. However, due to the curse and his own nature, he prefers not to get too close to other people - until he meets Tohru. When embraced by a member of the opposite sex, Yuki transforms into the rat of the Chinese zodiac...the animal that, in the legends, tricked the cat out of its place among the other animals.

When I was young, there were many times I wanted to run away from Sohma house. I never did - I could always find some rationalization to stay. The fact of the matter is, I just wasn't strong enough or I could have left. I could have lived in the woods by myself in a tent. I could have done what she did.

He's shy when he first meets people, but after he gets to know them a little, he can open up to them, be himself. Because of what he is, Kyo can never be accepted into the zodiac. But isn't it better that he can be accepted by normal people for who he is? That is exactly what I've always wanted. I guess that's why I get so angry with him because he can't even see what he has. He's blinded by the foolish desire to join the same family I've spent my whole life running from.
That isn't me. You see, they accept me because I'm nice, while I only act nice because I want them to accept me. It's not how I really feel. I'm not a good person. I'm just...selfish.
