In Fushigi Yuugi, Yui was Miaka's best friend in the real world. That is, until she was manipulated by Nakago into becoming the Priestess of Seiryuu and Miaka's enemy. Despite having a good head on her shoulders, Yui is emotionally vulnerable and easily controlled.
