Vincent was originally a member of the Turks in The Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, but was injured during the Jenova project. Because of Hojo's experimentation, Vincent is cursed to a vampire-like state of not aging, in addition to being able to transform into an uncontrollable monster. He joined Cloud and the others when he discovered Cloud was pursuing Sephiroth; he thought in their travels that he would find Hojo. Although he doesn't speak very much, Vincent knows much about the nature of Jenova. He's also the main character in Dirge of Cerberus.
