This Fushigi Yuugi hero first appears as Genrou, the leader of a gang of mountain bandits. He is later revealed to be Tasuki, the tough guy of the Suzaku Seven, armed with a fire throwing fan. He's a softie at heart and would do anything for his friends.

One of my favorite scenes for Tasuki comes at the very end of the final OAV episode. After the last battle, Tasuki awakes and looks around, smiles and says "So, this is what death is like" (or, something to that effect). He makes a crack about it not being exactly like he thought. Chichiri steps into his line of vision, and Tasuki smiles and waves, "Oh, Chichiri. Hi. You're dead too!" Chichiri looks confused and replies, "We're not dead, you know..." Tasuki completely ignores him and continues on about how Heaven looks a lot like the mountain Taiitsukun resides at. Chichiri smirks and tells Tasuki that's EXACTLY where they are.
The funny part comes when Tasuki sits up and sees Taiitsukun hovering above him, and he screams "AHHH! I'M IN HELL!!!!!!" Taiitsukun, who is NOT assumed, replies, "Nuriko? Smack him." All you hear is a SMACK, and you KNOW Nuriko probably was just WAITING to knock Tasuki over. It's just a really funny scene to me.
