Tarzan

The hero of Disney's Tarzan is part ape, part man - athletic, brave, and intelligent.  And he wears a loincloth.  What more could you ask?

Why I like Tarzan:

Tarzan is innocent, spirited and curious to learn new things like a child. The way he smiles just melts me every time. The scenes where he's comparing Jane and her world with himself and his world are brilliant because of their simplicity. Comparing a well-dressed, well-read, well-taught and well-raised pretty English girl with a wildman raised among beasts, dressed in a loincloth, with a mass of hair which has never been combed who hardly talks at all is superb. And yet still their hearts are alike.

Tarzan is animal-like, browsing the jungle moving with the help of his pure instincts. He doesn't even glance at the vines he grabs, he just does and is already concentrating on where to move next. His eyes are just dreamy. Blue and deep like the sky, shadowed by the gorilla-like eyebrows. And who could forget about his anatomics? Swift moves, fast reactions, acrobatic tricks on treetops. And those muscles......:9

His personality is well-developed. In the beginning he's like a regular kid being picked on by other kids who are different from him. He could just give up and not even try to become like his gorilla family, but he doesn't, he trains himself to become "the best ape ever". (And IMHO, he is.;)) But when he finds that there are creatures like him, he doesn't know where he belongs anymore. In the end he has to make the decision to either stay in the jungle or leave to England with Jane.

Something different:

Tarzan

I had always wondered
Why I didn’t look like the rest
Of my family.
Why was I so different?
Why wasn’t I the same?
Why didn’t anyone appreciate me?
I thought that I would never find
The answer,
And after accepting the truth,
I tried to carry on with my life.
But as soon as I met her,
The strange new creature
In the huge tree,
I knew that we were associated
In a way.
But what was it?
Alike hands and heart,
Alike appearance,
It made no sense.
I didn’t know what to think,
Except find out as much about her
As I could.
But soon, as our friendship grew,
So did my feelings for her.
I fell in love with
Jane,
The kindest,
Friendliest,
Most beautiful human
To change my life.
I couldn’t help it.
Maybe it was her eyes,
Her glittering royal blue eyes,
Containing a place full of happiness,
Where our two worlds had
Collided and lived in harmony.
I wanted to talk to her about this,
But I couldn’t find the courage.
I was too shy,
To tell her so soon.
But I’m glad I finally did,
Or I might have lost her forever.
I can’t remember what attracted me
To her,
All I know is that I understand
Where I really need to be.
My place is with Jane.
I’m not confused anymore.
