Tamahome is the main hero of Fushigi Yuugi, and one of the Suzaku Seven - his power is exceptional martial arts. At first it appears Tamahome is only interested in money, but it is later revealed that even this is for a very good reason. He also eventually falls in love with his priestess, Miaka (who loves him to the point of obsession), and he learns to care deeply for his fellow warriors, always hurt when something bad happens to one of them. In the OAVs, he is reborn in Miaka's world as a young man named Taka to fulfill her wish for them to always be together - but his memories have been erased...
