I love every moment of the "Firebird" segment of Fantasia 2000 with the Sprite. But if I only had to name a few that I'm always waiting for to see........
1. The scene where the butterflies land on her hair and she slowly lifts her head and looks up. This was the scene that made me fall in love with her!
2. The scene where she's running from the Firebird and climbs up a tree fast like a squirrel. I don't know why, but it's just so darn cute!
3. The scene where the Elk finds her remains as ash and breathes life into her, and the ash slowly starts to come together, forming only a mere shadow of something that was once so beautiful. Once freshly green like spring, so full of joy, beauty and life, now grey, lifeless, strengthless, at loss of all hope. But it's the fact that she still exists, if only as pieces of ash, she's still alive. She's not dead after all, there's still some hope left. The symbolism of the scene is simply beautiful.
4. Of course, the final scene where the Sprite once again brings everything back to life. She's back to being joyful and full of life again, the audience can relate to her emotions and to stand in awe of the miracle of life she brings, to be a part of the magic and wonder, to understand the mystery that she is.
