Riku is a 15 year old boy and friend of Sora's in Kingdom Hearts. He's more focused than his friends Sora and Kairi and longs to leave his island to explore other worlds. He also competes with Sora in many island sports. When Kairi's heart is taken by the heartless, Riku vows to do anything to get it back, even join forces with Maleficent.

remain a part of each other's lives no matter what. C'mon, I know you want
to try it.

Comments:
After the events in "Kingdom Hearts", Riku works toward cleansing himself of the darkness along with his classic Disney ally, King Mickey. But soon he learns that if he can learn to bend the darkness to his will, he can use it for good purposes. He does so both with his own heart's darkness and the leftover darkness of Xehanort's heart.
