A lieutenant colonel in the military in Fullmetal Alchemist, Roy Mustang is also The Flame Alchemist, so called because his specialty is to create flame from air, which he does with a snap of his fingers (without a circle, thanks to a special pair of gloves). Roy is cool, clever, manipulative, ruthless, and very ambitious - in short, an excellent officer. However, he does occasionally display warmer traits, and tragic events in his past have strongly affected him.

When I first saw Roy in the series, he seemed cold, distant, calculating, and ruthlessly ambitious. He seemed to have been created expressly to drive Ed Elric crazy with his manipulating ways and his constant sarcastic criticism. Even when he showed a more human side, it wasn't very attractive, as when he claimed that, when he became Fuhrer, he'd make all military women wear miniskirts. However, his people are all dedicated to him despite the fact that he seems to be a total jerk, and as some of his past was revealed and I saw another side of him (especially in the Ishbal history), I began to like him more - enough to create this page. Besides, he's rather sexy, in a way. I have a hard time resisting a strong guy if I've seen him in moments of terrible weakness.
