Ratigan is the sinister, evil rival of Basil in Disney's The Great Mouse Detective, and the Criminal Mastermind of all Mousedom. He commits high treason by trying to kill the mouse queen, but is done in by Basil, ending his life of crime.

Ratigan is the scariest Disney villian of all time in my opinion . Not only was he voiced by Vincent Price , but he had a thirst for blood unlike any villian I've ever seen before .( He killed one of his own henchmen !! ) He is elegent and pretty , but is terrifying as well , especially at the final showdown on Big Ben . That scene used to give me nightmares .
I kind of feel sorry for him though ..... being called a name he hates time and time again . He hates to be called a rat the way I hated being called a loser in Middle School .

Trivia: Vincent Price actually considered the role of Ratigan as one of his favorite roles. Granted it is not hard to see why he would say such a thing but still...
