Disney's Pete first appeared on 1925. Tough, strong, aggressive and amoral, he is easily enraged. It is no surprise that he can count among his rivals/enemies almost anybody he meets. Since 1925 his successive arch-rivals have been Julius Cat (1925-1927), Oswald Rabbit (1927-1928) and Mickey Mouse (ever since 1928). Pete loves money, and he is not above turning to crime to get it. He also loves having authority over others. Pete also likes attractive women and has at times tried to replace Mickey as Minnie's boyfriend. Though quite intelligent he tends to lose his fights, probably because his rivals are more intelligent and calmer than him.

In the "Kingdom Hearts" game series, Pete was a steamboat captain whom Mickey worked for. Once Mickey became king of Disney Castle, Pete was appointed as captain of the guard. But after several attempts to betray him, he was banished to another dimension. But eventually he was freed by Maleficent and now works with her in her new plan. He is a constant thorn in Sora's side and appears to fight him in various worlds. But ultimately Pete, along with Maleficent, put their rivalry with Sora and his friends on hold until Organization XIII is eliminated.
