Yukio Oikawa from Digimon always wanted to go to the Digital world. When he was young, he and his friend Hiroki Hida always theorized about digimon and dreamed of exploring their world. When Hiroki passed away, Oikawa was left a lonely, bitter man. He was so bent on fufilling his and Hiroki's dream that he accepted the dark spirit of Myotismon into his body when the evil digimon asked him to. Compelled by the darkness, Oikawa masterminded a plot to get into the Digital world that put many children in danger. It was he who manipulated Ken into becoming the evil Digimon emperor. Ultimately, the plan cost Oikawa his life when Myotismon was released from his body, but he used the last of his energy to save the Digital world from destruction and his spirit now guards over it for all eternity.
