Comments:

What I really like best about Mozenrath is that, unlike most of the other villans in the "Aladdin" T.V. series, Mozenrath actually provides a challange for the hero. He is extremely powerful and every bit as clever as Aladdin. His main character flaw however is his arrogance and greed, which causes him to be defeated almost every time. I also like the fact that Mozenrath is about the same age as Aladdin. It's interesting to see the contrasts between two peers who have completely different lives and personalitys. Mozenrath is certainly not as handsome or dashing as Aladdin, but I think he has an odd charm of his own. I like his curly black hair, his pale face, full lips, and black eyes. His dark blue and black clothing is really neat too, and I like Johnathan Brandis as his voice. All in all, I think Mozenrath is an extremely interesting, and fascinating villan.

Mozenrath...What can I possibaly say about Mozenrath? I guess an indescribable lot, actually. But then I don't *really* have to, do I? Not only has Karen put her comment across extremely well, but I also think that any true Mozenrath fan already knows what there is to be said. For one thing, he *is* good looking. Yeah, I know. Tall, dark...Blah. I'll admit, I always favour the darker types. But then, who really cares about looks? It's his age, his ability to play out such a villainous character, how much he's already accomplished- and not to forget Xerxes, of course. No side-kick should ever be forgotten. Well as I said before, there's just so, so much I could say. But I won't. I'm just honoured to be a fan of such an amazing villain (No drooling, here- but simple admiration since day 1). I only hope that a lot more people will comment here- It's very nice to see a Mozenrath page up at last. Superb pics too, as usual^^^

I kinda think Mozenrath is kinda handsome, even though he looks a little like Marilyn Manson without make-up.

Mozenrath is a lot of fun, I must admit. He has that charm that makes you feel like you're right next to him. Arogant, mysteriouse and pretty sexy for a guy who's centuries old! My site on him is at http://www.geocities.com/mirage_3_2000/Mozenrath.html Drop by! You're more than welcome to visit us! :)

This was my favorite character from the entire series.Although young this sorcerer is ambitious, inteligent and capable far more than Aladdin. The Lord of the Black Sands was to rule the Seven Deserts. His knowledge of the occult is obviously growing. He doesn't make a fool out of him self.He plans carefuly. He is one of those who either build an empire or die trying to build it.Far better than the immature Aladdin.

What I love about Mozenrath is his beauty, skills, power and ruthless charm. He's so much fun to watch, and I do admit that I was actually frightened of him when I was only a kid. Anyways, I love Mozenrath, and may one day that he conquer Agrabah! Oh yeah, and I love Xerxes too, since he's cute (even if some people think he's dumb and ugly :P)

Besides, I hate it when Aladdin defeats him, since Mozenrath is a much more powerful (im)mortal than that street rat, and he could end Jasmine's life too...........

Ah, Mozenrath! Since all of you must be wondering, why I this talented Necromancer out of most Disney Villains? True, he may not be the first Disney villain to ever appear on the big screen, nor he did appear in any official Disney movies, but here are my reasons of why I like him:

1. His name is very unique. Whoever came up with his name is pure genious, since I love the quality, lengh and plus he name sounds so darn cool (kudos to Bill Motz and Bob Roth for coming up with this chilling name.) I love characters who's names are very unique, beautiful, and full of pultritude.

2. He doesn't look like a typical villain. Sure, many villains may appear ugly, hideous and less attractive than the hero, but Mozenrath breaks all appearance sterotypes and traditions. He is young, handsome, well cultured and dresses with a regal flair of style. Plus he has an excellent face structure: pale, grim, serious and quite good looking.

3. Even if his flying eel familar, Xerxes, seem retarded by many people, I think that he actually looks menacing and slithery. He is still one of my favorite villain sidekicks even after today, because he is atleast loyal to his master, and does not betray him after numerous beatings (Iago sure did betray Jafar ) and that makes Xerxes more likeable. Plus I always had an admiration to eels of many kinds.

4. He sure does rule a dark and scary land, known simply as "The Land of the Black Sand"(the Citadel itself is the best evil stronghold that I have ever seen and come to know!), which he single handedly conquered and overthrew his former master Destane, whom he then turned into a half-dead shambling Mamluck, his undead slaves. I personally found that pretty amazing, since even if I don't know what Destane exactly did to Moz, he sure deserved it. (I have a hunch that Moz was probably abused as a child by that sick psycho.) Also, his Mamlucks are wicked, since I do admire various forms of undead Zombies. It is possible, that Destane poisoned the young man's mind, as he became the now-evil sorcerer he is today.

5. He has some of the best lines in the series, plus a menacing, yet elonquent voice, provided by Jonathan Brandis (may he rest in peace.) One of his memorable quotes is "Look at how Aladdin loves his Genie! Can we really take his Genie away? ....In a Gomorrah minute!" Now that quote was executed perfectly! And also I find this line quite ruthless:

Sprite: Please Mozenrath, we've worked all day! Have a heart!

Moz: Alright, I'll have YOUR'S!

Ouch! Now that scene from "The Lost City of the Sun" episode was quite cold, don't you think?

6. He had quite a lot of episode appearances. 9 to be exact (plus a cameo appearance of his, along with Abis Mal and Mechanikles occured in the episode "When Chaos comes Calling"), which makes him the 2nd most recurring villain in the Aladdin series (Abis Mal appeared in 13 Aladdin episodes, since he is the most reccuring villain.) Plus, most of his episode appearances were very memorable, and they automatically got spots in my "Favorite Aladdin episode list." And another little known fact, Mozenrath has 9 letters on his name, and he had 9 major episode appearances. Coincidence, no?

7. He, unlike most Aladdin series villains (with the exception of the deadly femme fatale: Mirage) doesn't lose because of stupidity and short attention span. He actually poses a threat to the heroes, and the good guys eventually win because of sheer luck, which he hates a lot.

8. He possesses strong magic. And he possesses a wide variety of magical creatures and items (i.e. Scirocco, Therdack, Crystal of Ix etc.) I especially liked Scirocco, since he is quite an untouchable deadly wind jackal. It is a shame that Iago used his voice impersonation ability to mimick the sorcerer's voice in order to send Scirocco back from whence it came.

9. He actually gave up his right hand for the power of his magical gauntlet. That proves how hardworking he really is, rather than the way Aladdin gets his prizes. I was quite shocked to find out about it, and now, I like his skeletal hand trait. His whinings such as "It's not Fair!" may seem rather annoying, but he does have a point, because he had to suffer in order to gain things that he needs. It was quite emotional, when Moz explained to his nemesis Aladdin how his (Aladdin's) Genie was handed to him on a "silver platter", but he gave up his right hand for power, even if it is slowly killing him. Aladdin acts like a cruel jackass and leaves Moz for dead when his gauntlet is buried in the desert (thanks to the annoying sissy sprites ) Honestly, I did feel bad for the sorcerer then, and was very pissed at Aladdin for what he did. (Another impulsive moronic thing that Aladdin did is kill Arbutus, before Jasmine got a chance to explain what Arbutus' motive really is. His death was unforgivable indeed )

10. Even if he is very young, he has a very smart and brilliant mind. Such good sense of intuition and intellect makes me like him even more.

11. He was supposed to be Aladdin's long lost brother and the main villain in the 3rd movie: "Aladdin and the King of Thieves." But the idea got scrapped, because they couldn't get in touch with Jonathan Brandis the now-deceased man who voiced Mozenrath, and they want to "steer clear" of the series. I could see that as a startling twist, but I'm sort of glad Moz and Al didn't turn out to be brothers.

12. He is quite fun to draw, write about and roleplay. Infact, he is the easiest character that I can draw without any references or what not.

Having said all these reasons, I believe that these should be enough. So, I am quite proud to be a Moze-fan for about more than 6 years or so. I just wish that there are enough Mozenrath merchandise which should be released (i.e. Action Figure). Plus, I sure am lucky to have all the Mozenrath episodes on my hard-drive. I watch them every once in a while, since they are quite the cream of the crop!

So, in general, Moz rules like a God. Long live Lord Mozenrath, and he will never die if fans of his (like me, for instance) keep up drawing fanarts, roleplaying, writing stories of him.

And to conclude me excrutiatingly long comment, my rating for Mozenrath is: 10/10. (obviously)

2. Genie's got a girlfriend! Genie's got a girfriend
Xerxes: Girlfriend. Girlfriend. Hee, heee.

3.Genie: Ha! Nice try, Mozenrath! But a genie isn't afraid of a little sunburn. Another amateurish oversight!
Mozenrath: Okay, then. Everybody else expires at dawn while I blow away Agrabah. Then... say, noonish... I return and devise some way to destroy you.
Genie: You... could... do it that way.

4.Aladdin: Maybe he needs a girlfriend or something.
Iago: I think he's married to his work
Mozenrath: It's so true! I love it.

5. Woohoo, if looks could bruise!

6. Today is the first day of the rest of your misery!

7. And of course his orgions:
There now my secrets out, you have discovered what I gave up for power. You had your genie handed to you on a silver platter, I had to give my right hand for power. It was painful, but it was worth it! Worth it enough to destroy the likes of you!

A quote to be inserted between #2 and #3 above:

Mozenrath: It begins at dawn, when I destroy the entire city of Agrabah and… you.
Genie: Ha! You can’t be in two places at once! You have to destroy Agrabah or us.
Iago: Uh… Go for Agrabah.
Mozenrath: I direct your attention to the ceiling, where you’ll notice a rather large diamond. At dawn, the sun will hit that diamond which will magnify the light into heat. And, well, it… gets kind of messy from there.

Something different:

For some reason, I always think of Mozenrath whenever I hear this song:

(Hemmorahage) In My Hands

Memories are laid where you need them
Dragging waters til the depths give up their dead
What did you expect to find?
Was it something you left behind?
Don't you remember anything I said, when I said

Don't fall away, leave me to myself.
DOn't fall away leave love bleeding
In my hands
In my Hands, again.
In my hands
In my hands
Leave love bleeding.

Oh hold me now, I feel contagious
Am I the only place that you're left to go
She cries her life is like
Some movie black and white
Dead actors vacant lies
Over and over and over again she cries

Don't fall away leave me to myself
Don't fall away
Leave love bleeding
In my hands In my hands again
Leave love bleeding!

And I warned her,
"Leave turn away
You don't remember, but I do
You never even tried."

Don't fall away leave me to myself
DOn't fall away leave love bleeding
In my hands
In my hands again.
In my hands
In my hands again!

This is a song I made up for Mozenrath to sing:
(a parody of a song written for The Little Mermaid animated series)

You better not mess with me!

With one wave of my hand
You know who's in command
I'm the almighty god of sorcery
I keep a crystal of Ix
That's worse than any jinx
No, you better not mess with me

Make way, I'm in charge
Your fate is looming large
It won't do you any good to flee
My plans never fail
So you'd better watch your tail
No, you better not mess with me

When you think I'm on the brink of going under
I've a way of coming out on top
Oh my beloved malice
I always get what I please
And I want this petty luck to stop!

I'm the master of mystique
With a slender slim physique
I'm an idol in the sands of infamy
I admit I'm quite a catch
But you've never met your match

So you shouldn't mess with the best
'Cause you couldn't stand the stress
No, you better not mess with me!!!!!!!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Something Different:

This is a song that (in my humble opinion) relates to Mozenrath:

Immortal

Let's fight

We're face to face
Loyalty is what I need to see from you
You're insecure
I can see the fear that breeds in your heart
Where will you run? [x2]
Where will you hide? [x2]
I see the blood drip from your eyes
Who will survive? Let's get it on
And we'll fight

I know who you are
The leader of lost souls
You can't kill me
I'm immortal
I'm not afraid to die
My soul will travel on
You can't kill me
I'm immortal
Immortal
Immortal
Immortal

I need the rush
There's nowhere you could hide before you die
Why won't you face me?
I can see the fear that's in your eyes
Where will you run? [x2]
Where will you hide? [x2]
I see the blood drip from your eyes
Who will survive? Let's get it on
And we'll fight

I know who you are
The leader of lost souls
You can't kill me
I'm immortal
I'm not afraid to die
My soul will travel on
You can't kill me
I'm immortal

I know who you are
The leader of lost souls
You can't kill me
I'm immortal
I'm not afraid to die
My soul will travel on
You can't kill me
I'm immortal

Where will you run? [x2]
Where will you hide? [x2]
Let's fight

I know who you are
The leader of lost souls
You can't kill me
I'm immortal
I'm not afraid to die
My soul will travel on
You can't kill me
I'm immortal

I know who you are
The leader of lost souls
You can't kill me
I'm immortal
I'm not afraid to die
My soul will travel on
You can't kill me
I'm immortal

You can't kill me
Immortal!
You can't kill me
Immortal!
You can't kill me
Immortal!
You can't kill me

Trivia:

* The first idea for the Aladdin and the King of Thieves movie involved Mozenrath. The plot was that the hero and villain would turn out to be brothers. However (according to one of the writers) everyone thought they should steer away from the TV show. That and the fact that they couldn't get in touch with Mozenrath's voice actor: Jonathan Brandis prompted them to move on to another relative of Aladdin's - his father.

* Disney studied Jonathan Brandis's appearance and movements, and incorporated them into Mozenrath's character.

* Mozenrath's name comes from the producers Bill Motz and Bob Roth.

* Mozenrath is the second most recurring villain (next to Abis Mal) in the Aladdin TV Series, since he appears in 9 episodes. Also, he is the villain that appeared in the most episodes in the third and final season of the Aladdin series.

* The voice actor for Mozenrath (Jonathan Brandis) died in November 12, 2003 due to commiting suicide. May he rest in peace.
