Max

The giant, monolithic Max is the manservant to the evil child star, Darla Dimple, in Cats Don't Dance. He never hesitates to scare and even brutalize anyone who crosses Darla. Yet with Darla, he's gentle, and he does everything she asks of him.

Max is one of the most hilarious sidekicks ever created for a villain. It never fails to crack me up when, after having seen him stride into the movie like King Kong in a bad mood, we then see him dress Darla, do her hair, apply lotions to her face, play the piano, etc., with those huge, huge hands and their comically amazing dexterity. A great example is the first picture, below. How can you help but laugh at that enormous monster in that pink, frilly room, ironing Darla's dresses with hands that are bigger than the whole ironing board?
