Are always the same.
Some people say
There’s no point in going
On another adventure,
The same thing
Will again happen.
But not me.
Each adventure is different
In it’s own special way.
I have always believed it
To be like that.
Even though I tell myself that,
Nothing could have prepared me
For the one that lay ahead.
The New World,
Seemed so new.
So unexplored,
So daring and wild.
I just felt as if
I had to tame it.
Nothing though,
Could have prepared me
To see it through Pocahontas’ eyes.
She was so special,
To guide me that way.
I realised that
Everything she taught me,
Made me feel different
About this New World.
And it also made me feel different about her.
I felt in a unique way whenever she was around,
I knew I just had to be with her
As long as I lived.
It all seemed strange though,
An Indian princess, in love with a settler,
But we didn’t find it hard.
Not one bit.
