Jim is the militant gym teacher at the boarding school of Code Lyoko. He tries his best to be as strict as possible, but most of the time winds up being ridiculous and comic instead. Although he inadvertently is a nuisance to the main characters most of the time, he has shown his true colors whenever XANA attacks. Underneath it all, Jim is a very courageous man who will do whatever it takes to protect the students of the school.

In "False Start", when he learns the secret of Lyoko and joins the heroes in helping to de-materialize Aelita and fight off XANA's monsters when they de-materialize and invade the school. He nearly dies trying to defend the students, showing what a hero he truly is. His life is saved by time travel, but he unfortuently also forgets the secret and his role in helping the heroes.
