Daisuke Niwa seems like the normal 14-year-old junior high school student in DNAngel. He's klutzy, he's late for school and he feverently hopes that one day his crush, Risa Harada, will love him in return. Unfortunately though, his body has a family gene that, once Dai turns 14 and his love isn't returned, he gains the ability to transform into the legendary Phantom Thief Dark whenever he has romantic feelings about Risa! The only way to stop turning into Dark is to have Risa return his love...but the only problem with that is...Risa is in love with Dark! What's a 14-year-old boy to do?
