In Fushigi Yuugi, Chiriko is one of the Suzaku Seven, the last to be found. He possesses extreme intelligence. In fact, he's the youngest to ever be considered for becoming a court official of Konan. Other than his intelligence, he's endowed with incredible cuteness.
