Chief is the ornery and grumpy dog of Amos Slade in The Fox and the Hound. He's jealous of Copper. He doesn't like Copper as a puppy or as an adult. Then he got hurt after he chased Tod on the railroad tracks. In The Fox and the Hound 2, he wins 4th Place ribbons at the contest at the fair.
