Contests! ~ A friend of mine is writing up a program to make contests easy for me. For anyone who doesn't remember them, there were four main ones - the Mickey (for animated movies), the Crusader (for animated TV shows), a fan art contest, and a fanfic contest. The contests are in two steps - first I take nominations, then I pick the 5 or 10 (depending on the contest) most-nominated, and the second step is voting for the winners. So start thinking about who you want to nominate!

There's going to be a difference - there will only be three contests. There won't be a Crusader, for two reasons: (1) the overlap between TV and movies/DTV/OVA is so extensive, and (2) I want to include video games, but without a separate contest. I'm not sure what the categories will be yet, but I'll keep you posted. Most likely they'll be what's listed on the Mickey Award main page, or pretty close to it. I am open to suggestions!

I hardly think I need mention that the nominations for the Mickey have to be animated movies, shows, games, and characters. However, there will be a new rule that the movie/TV show/character/game must have a page on this site, that is, be listed on the characters page (with a link!) or the shows page. Also, for the fanfic and fan art contests, any nominated fic or art must be posted on this site, that is, be listed on the fanfic and fan art pages. (New additions to those pages are automatically eligible as soon as they are added.)

I'm not sure when the contests will start, since I'm doing a Nano in November, so I won't have much time to work on it. I'm thinking January, but it might be sooner. Of course, a lot depends on my friend getting the program working.
